I found this desk sitting on the sidewalk at the mercy of the Colorado weather, forming massive cracks down the desk top. I was immediately taken by the beauty of the construction and the form of the legs, and knew it had so much potential! So I lugged it into the back of my car (whew was it heavy!) and started the journey of restoring this beauty. After a couple days of straight sanding, I fixed the large crack on the top of the table, filled gaps, and cleaned the hardware.
From there I chose the color scheme. I felt that this desk had a strong presence, and could benefit from more contrast and use of the natural wood. I used a dark charcoal gray chalk paint for the majority of the body, and a black stain for the natural wood pieces.
